Default different fuel pump, runs rich???

ok i have a question i am new to the tuner scene bought a gsr hatch from a friend with a few up grades. i was told by my friend that he has a Jackson Racing fuel regulator with type R fuel pump, when i told another friend about this he said that was a retarded upgrade to make because it would make my car run rich and slow her down. Is this true will the jackson racing fuel reg. w/ the type r fuel pump make it run rich? thanks a bunch guys!

Is the fuel pressure regulator adjustable? Greater fuel pressure will cause your car to run richer...

The fuel pump won't affect your fuel mixture.

the car runs great and doesn't smell rich at all! (like i said i'm new to the tuner secen) if you put a fuel regulator on with a new fuel pump you could set the mixture corectly, right? so the kid who told me; this was stupid to have on my car was pretty much talking out his ***? what is your guys opinion

Anytime you try and throw more VOLUME through a FPR which can't return the excess back to the tank, your fuel pressure will rise as a result. As a result of a higher fuel pressure, you will now run richer.

Is the particular combo you have installed causing this problem, I dunno. But a lot of people who install the Walbro 255lph HP in tandem with the stock FPR seem to generate higher fuel pressure.
