I'm getting ready to do some stuff to my daily driver, 89 DX. I am getting a N.O.S. kit this week and I am planning on doing either a 5g DX mpfi or 5g EX/Si mpfi VTEC swap. I'm going to do some port work on the head and intake and probly go with some stiffer valvesprings so I can rev the crap out of it. I was doing some comparisons in the garage this morning and noticed that my 96 GSR injectors are the same size as my 5g DX injectors but just the plugs are different. Would these injectors work on this setup? Also, I was thinking about milling the head a little bit, how much of the juice should I spray? I am planning on using a 4g Si computer.
What do you guys think? Keep in mind this is a Very low budget operation (only have about $150 in the car).

You can use the OBD1 injectors with your OBD0 ECU if you rewire the injector connectors and take out the resistor box, and join the 5 wires together.
there is not need to change to obd1or2 its not a thing u want to do if u dont have patience either. u can use any crx or civic si ecu from 88-91 they all will work use teh dist from the ef also not a dx though. use the injecters from teh si but u can use th eintake manifold from the newer eg or ek and u just need to use ur sensers in teh intake manifold. ull figure it out its not hard.

What jdmB18 is saying is:
You do NOT need to run the OBD1 computer, just swap on the '88-'91 Si manifold, injectors, distributor and ECU. You can put on the newer head, no biggie (I swapped in a 2000 DX head - which is OBDII, doing the stuff above, got no codes yet).
If you do a VTEC mini-me, then you do the same thing, but add a VTEC controller to handle the VTEC duties.
Nitrous = bad idea unless you rebuild the old engine .......

Actually the nitrous kit I am getting used to be on the motor that is in my EF. It was in a CRX and the car went 15.5 with a 50 shot. The kid ran a 70 shot in it for a while then one day decided to race someone after he got off work and sprayed a cold motor, burnt 2 valves. It is a single fogger dry kit. I'm not to scared to push the limits on this thing, I've got a couple of those motors laying around. We'll see what happens I guess.

hehe nice! I might pick up a D16Z6 head setup soon, what is all needed to put that on a 93 DX (don't know the code) block? I'm new to this D series stuff and for some reason I'm more interested in it than my other car. Is the 5g DX bottom end better than a 4g?

i ran a 15.5 with a ZC in my 89 Civic Si. the 16s i was running prob didnt help either.
actually that 15.5 isnt impressive i went 16.3 on sunday with a d15b1 and i had a crappy 60 ft time next week i should break at least a 15.9 and we have ran a d15b2 with a dx tranny and we hit 15.4 so that doesnt impress me at all oh yah we didnt use N2O
