Default welding outta boredom gimme some ideas

Hey guys, I was bored outta my mind so went to this shop and got a bunch of scrap metal and made this embarassing "piggy" bank costing me a total of 4 dollars for primer and paint........ took 3 hours on the mig/plasma cutter/ oxyacel torch ( to stretch out the sping for a tail.

Can you guys gimme some ideas of automotive stuff to make cause even though this piggy was fun .....it 20 pounds of metal sitting on my counter...well at least my wife and her crafter buddies love it.

Oooh and I will be tig-ing my own turbo manifold as soon as my lazy *** goes and finds some weld ells.

I love it. Hahaha You know how you are suppose to break the old school piggy banks? I'd like to see what happens if you drop THAT on the ground.

yeah I thought about that halfway through making it so I used the plasma torch and cut out a circle and tacked the snout over it...so when I get desperate I can smash the pig nose off ha....

But seriously I plan on making upper and lower tie bars but that seems so simple I wanna weld something and the people on the crafter forum my wife is on are asking about cows and horses and stuff ...I want something car related....and for an eg...maybe I'll try some traction bars or something....

TEEN TITANS

yeah, i'd make stuff for them and sell it so you can afford to do more to your car... since you're using scraps, think of the profit you can turn if you sold those for like $75-$100

The only piggy bank worth putting money into is a piggy bank you can't get into without destroying it. Looks like a good savings account.

Just an idea. Try taking misc parts from old motors and such to make desk ornaments or something. I could see a valve spring pencil holder or something like that. Just find old car parts, and ask yourself what would look cool and be functional at the same time. Keep it going.

Yeah I'm kinda hooked on teen titans and CSI...not sure how this happened whatever and I would like to make a profit but I think I will make something then sell it so I don't end up like an ebay or crafter forum version of a certain flange maker here on HT

iv made numersous stupid tings out of scrap... dont know if u smoke but iv made numerous ashtrays which are always fun... i made a few out of broken ring gears and valves... with the vlaves welded to the teeth and then welded a steel plate to the underside of the ring gear... i made this one as well... 2 b series cam gears, one i machined out the middle... welded them together, and hammered in a plate of pure nickel on the bottom gear, at first it was held up by valves but they broke... lol... so now i used 3 injectors... without melting the plastic of course

I thought of that, but didnt do it because I couldent hide the cord well. Thats the key to having a pro looking lamp IMO.

might be cool with a rod or two you could whirl around too.

i am actually in the middle of a coffee table out of a small block chevy. a buddy of mine blew his up. i left the pistons on the rods and bolted the rods straight to the block. then the pistons will move on the rods to give me a place to mount the table top. i am thinking about using expanded metal for the to with a plexiglass insert. i dont know yet. the damn thing is to heavy to move. im using it for storage at work right now. it make a good pry bar holder.

I once thought of how I could make a coffee table with a couple old D series blocks under a sheet of glass. The blocks would support the glass, and where the cylinders were I wanted to cut out a piece so I could fill the bores with peanuts, soda's, ect....

But then I never got that bored. lol

i've got a buddy with a drill press... drill down the middle through the center of the crank and put blingin polished rods in between the counterweights to hide the cord

or i could get some stainless line like the stuff used for nitrous lines and run one up either side, all twisty like

I like the braided stainless line idea that way the rods could still be spun around. Doesnt Flamenco T have a "crank lamp wire" kit or something?
