Matters what your goals are.B18 makes a nice street engine but is maxed out (practically) at about 350 hp by the cylinder head flow.In a stripped out track car the b16 can easily (relatively) in the 600's hp.

If you're talking about an LS [B18A/B] you're going to make more torque than a b16 at the same HP level. I LOVE my B18A.

My vote is the b18a/b1, I have a LST hatch almost complete now.

Loved my old LST hatch.

I would go with the B16 (better tranny and head). It can also take a bit more power in stock form with the better rod design (LS has weak rod bolts, due to the design of the rods putting strees on them). Too much torque = wheel spin and no traction, unless your on slicks. This artical explains it pretty well... http://www.importbuilders.com/turbosetup.html

Not like you can't rev a B18C/B to 10K+ RPM's.

Come to think of it, I think your best bet is to go with a 2.0L Search Engine.

Even though the B18C R head is better flowing?

I once say a full interior 500bhp B16... shall i go tell him to strip it out to push for 600bhp?
