Default Do I need to take off my CAI when I take it to the dealership (more)...

Ever since I installed the CAI I hear a clicking noise when I let off the gas in 1st or 2nd. It sounds like it's coming from the front right. It doesn't seem plausible that the intake is making the clicking sound though. But when I take it to Acura should I take it off? I don't even know if I didn't break the coolant line thingie when I took off the stock intake. Thanks guys.

if it isn't the casue of the problem then you should have nothing to worry about. but since it doesn't take long you could change it back to sae the hassle of them saying something

just to be safe, why dont you try installing the stock intake again? Do you have any modifications to the car other than AEM?

I would just take it off just to be safe. Dealerships can sometimes be very ignorant and stubborn.

No other mods. I just don't know if I damaged the two lines that were removed on the stock intake.

I have an AEM CAI and I have the same "problem". I call it a "problem" because its not really a problem, just the metal extension coming off of the mounting area midway down the tube that taps against the car.

WOOPS, I just actually READ the post and the clicking i'm talking about is definitely caused by the intake, but since this problem came about after installing the intake I would just check to make sure you have everything tightned down correctly. I would only take off the intake when you go to Acura IF you have a warranty. If not, I wouldnt worry about leaving it on.

It could be the CAI moving under the torquing under the engine. I doubt it be motor mounts as it's not that old yet to have failing ones but you never know.

I don't have problem with my CAI as my dealership put mine on for me and even warrantied it.

Hey you live in coppell, so do I. I just saw your car yesterday and was going to look out for you posting on the board. It's possible that you have seen me, my cars the Black R thats always dirty. I think there is one other R in coppell, that white one, some old guy owns it but I think it has some mods. Maybe I'll see around.

I took my car to the dealership with the mods in my sig (add a carsound cat ) and they gave me no problems at all. BUT the problem I took the car in for was the infamous rattle in the dash and behind the door (they said nothing was wrong)

Hey I also asked my dealership if the mods were ok. They said hey well fix anything modded or not, BUT the parts have to be installed by a professional and you must have receipts stating this, they also said they will not warrenty the parts (duh). Hey maybe my dealership just ROCKS (Acura of Maywood )

If it eases your mind, my friend took his 2001 to the dealership just yesterday for the 15,000 mile tune-up.

They saw his AEM and congratulated him on finally doing a mod...

Hey hooptie where are you located? They sound like they all that and then some. If I ever was to buy another honda and modify it which I wont. I'll take off everything maybe even the tint of the windows. I had 1 dealer here in ga say my aftermarket pedals would void any warranty on my clutch and transmission. Whatt a crock of poo. Thats why Im all anti honda now. I like my car but I hate the dealers.

Dealers are like women.
You cant stand they azz,
But you cant live without them.
