Need some help
I have a '99 Civic EX coupe. I was looking under the hood and found my engine type stamp and it was D16Y8. If anyone could tell me anything about this type of engine or point me to a website that tells about honda engine types, it would really help me out. Thanks in advance for any help.

The D16Y8 is a sohc vtec motor. It's rated at 127hp and has 1.6L of displacement. Overall it's a pretty good motor and there are a lot of aftermarket parts out there for it. HTH.

it has a smaller combustion chamber than the other d-series vtec heads. and it comes with a better intake manifold than the other sohc vtec heads.
