Default if i dont bore my TB, will that hurt me?

i'm at the tail end of an 8 month build in my 2000 Si. i'm going with ctr pistons&cams, itr valvetrain/blox IM/yada yada yada.

I have a stock throttle body. Will this build be pointless if i don't get the TB bored out? Will it really hinder my performance that much? I have searched, and there are a lot of "bore throttle body" topics, but they don't really address this issue. I am really looking for knowledge on the subject. I mean, sure, logically, the bigger bore, more air flow, but I just want to know how important/necessary it is to bore the TB with a blox intake manifold. please teach me.

Thanks!!!

there is such a thing as too big for NA throttle bodies...but i'd say boring out just a few mm would be a significant performance booster for your setup

maxbore.com is actually the work of a fellow ht poster, and he does GREAT work on throttle bodies, even does the tunneling effect like spoon. good luck

got mine done at maxbore

Looks like you spent a good 3k on parts, spend another $100 to bore your stock tb to 64mm and do it right

what exactly do you mean by "tunneling"? is that like tapering the inlet? i am looking at getting a local shop to do mine so i want to know if he can do this and if i want him to do it. thanks.

I would find out how much the local guy is gonna charge you to do it, and if its anywhere near $100 I would def send it to maxbore.

Maxbore is the best tb work I have seen personally. (only really seen a few.) But its totally perfect.
