isnt that plug designed to receive a 12 volt signal to power the coil? is there a way to test it?

Ok if you tested the damn thing you know is not getting power....Were you cranking it and have the ignition on the on position to make sure it was getting power?

If you did and it's still not getting power that way then is very simple...

Open wire between 12v battery wire end and the power wire to the coil..

Check for power there and at the reference signal from the ignition switch

I believe an easy test for the main relay is to turn the key on and listen for the fuel pump -- it's pretty quiet, but if it comes on, your main relay is working.

[QUOTE=mxer518]if that plug isnt receiving a 12 volt signal what could that mean? QUOTE]

IF you mean the one coming to the coil...

If it's not getting power into it It has an open.....
if it gets power and too much amperage probably has a short

Now if you get power before the coil and no power coming out of it, The coil is bad....

Check for infinite resistance
