Default swinging idle? normal or not?

hi guys,

i have just installed my first B16A and it runs nicely except for an idle that osscilates (swings) from 750rpm to 800rpm

it doesnt do this till it is warmed up and the ecm is in closed loop mode.

i have been monotering the A/F and MAP outputs which show that teh A/F goes from slightly lean to slightly rich every 2 seconds or so at idle and the MAP voltage goes from 0.92v-0.98v at idle.

is this osscilating idle typical of the ECM in closed loop mode?

or is something wrong?

thanks for any input to this!

t..

Disconnect an Clean out the idle valve located just below your TB. It has a round looking cap on it, w/ small coolant hose going to it.

if its not very erratic like 750 800 750 800 then its not good if not its should be ok.

You idle will swing slightly as it goes from rich to lean. 50 rpm swing is not anything to worry about.

Sounds like you have a solid setup, a 50RPM swing is nothing to worry about.
