Default O2 Sensor

Our check engine light has been on a while as the local mechanic told us it wasn't a big deal and he probably wouldn't rush to fix it it was code I think P0141 he said it was the rear O2 Sensor. Is this something that is easy to install? I think it would be but don't know I was wondering also which sensor I would need I know nopi.com sells some. I'm thinking of changing my exhaust to a Apexi WSII also will these work with that? Just wondering which sensor I need and what all is involved with changing it.

just stay away from nopeeeeeee (wouldnt it sound more respectable if it was pronounced no-pie??)

just get an OEM sensor.....it goes into the catalytic converter, so theres no issues w/ the WS

Are the NGK ones Nopi sell not any good they also have some that say OEM standards but cost more. Whats wrong with Nopi? They seem to have very good prices and I know my cousin said he ordered most of the stuff he put on there car from there and I ordered some Brembo rotors and Nissn brake pads there and didn't have any problems.

i dont know about nopi parts, but ive had bad experiences with universal 02 sensors... they dont seem to want to work with my ecu. i always go with oem sensors now. check out http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com for oem parts. they are cheaper than the dealer.

Nopi carries some universal ones but they also have NGK and another brand sepcifically for this vehicle. I may check elsewhere though. Would that code be for the sensor before or after the cat? I am thinking after since they said it was for the rear one.

The Accord store has it but it is $231.95 thats a whole lot. Is it really any better than this one http://www.nopionline.com/nopi...01996 that is under half the price. I know I run NGK plugs on my motorcycles and they seem to be good. I don't know if I will fix it if I have to pay the $230 as thats a whole lot to make a light go off. If not the NGK are there any things that screw into it to make the computer think it has a sensor but eliminate the sensor? I know people use these on there Rams when they take the Cat off. Do they make them for Honda's if the NGK isn't any good?

Nopi also has a Bosch sensor both say O.E type http://www.nopionline.com/nopi...01996
This one a little much for a sensor I think also.
They also have some univeral ones but these arnt them. Since they are made for this car will they work or is the Honda part really worth the money.

there is a federal recall on exhaust related problems with ur car. call dealer and ask, i forgot the recall #, but it's been extended to 14 years or 150,xxx miles whichever comes first. I had my egr valve replaced for free under this extended federal recall honda entered into with epa and california emission. it covers anything exhaust related including o2 sensor failures and on top of that they gave me a free tune up worth $100 and a free oil change to top it off.

I may ask but our dealer likes to screw you as much as they can like tell you the muffler will be $250 to replace when it is supposed to have a lifetime warrenty. If not I'm just going to give the NGK O.E. Type one from Nopi a try.

Still a lot compared to the $102 of the NGK one. I have heard bad things about universal ones but this one isn't a universal one it is specifically for this car. Why is it people think the OEM ones are better than the aftermarket ones?

Ok I ordered one from Nopi but once again it isn't a universal one they have a universal one for $47 the one I oredered is a O.E. one. Specifically for Honda's they just arnt made by Honda they are made by NGK which I like for spark plugs on motorcycles and they seem to make quality stuff for bikes and I use some of there stuff on my bikes and quads too and they seem to be good so I'm giving there sensor a try hopefully I'm not making a mistake.

If it doesn't fit or I have any problems I will return it. So your saiyng NGk si OEM stuff? I don't really care if it is OEM or not just don't want the Honda price on it and don't want a universal one as I have heard nothing but bad things about those. I figure I will try this one if it doesn't work can't be worse than the bad one I have now.

Yea ngk has the electronic contract for honda errr honda uses ngk for most of their electronic parts like plugs, o2 sensors, wires etc etc is ngk. So ngk quality is technically oem quality if you think about it and should work out just fine for you.

Are the complaints about universal ones that they don't fit or they don't last or work or what. I just hear people say they have had bad experiences with them what all is bad is it the fitment?

Typically the universal ones carry shitty quality of life and just plain don't fit. NTM you tend to lengthen the wires or do some electronic wiring work whereas the non universal ones you don't have to. Just from what I have seen...spend the extra money on the non universal one and you'll have less headache and more free time .

Well now Nopi says they can't get it so I guess I have to find somewhere else to get one or I may just leave it broken. Nopi also said the exhaust I ordered was a World Sport Series and had a picture of the WSI like I wanted they didn't have it but could get it from Apexi but turns out it is a WSII as he gave me the part number so I cancelled that order completely I had had good luck with Nopi in the past and my cousin seemed to like them but I'm not sure about this now I have to find somewhere to get the WSI as I can't stand the looks of the WSII and would rather keep my stock muffler.
