96 Civic DX B16A2 Swap
Like I say, I have a 96 Civic DX and I'm thinking about swaping a JDM B16A2. I'm thinking of getting a complete swap off of http://www.ardperformance.com and I have a few questions.
Will I need anything not included in the ard swap?
Should it bolt right in or does it involve welding motor mounts or anything like that?
I currently have an automatic trans, how hard would it be to swap to the B16A2 manual hydro trans? Are all the holes and everything allready in my car and just pluged up or not? What would I need thats not included in the ard swap besides the pedals?
How much harder would it be to swap/convert a B series manual cable trans than the hydro, because it's alot cheaper? And what extra parts would I need?
Thank you very much..

i just swaped a JDM b16a2 into my 98 civic hatch.
changing trannys is a considerable amount of work you would need:
*five speed tranny
*clutch kit
*pedal assembly(from matching year of car)
*clutch resivor and feed line
*slave cylinder
*front tranny bracket
*Rear L-Bracket
*upper tranny bracket
* five speed starter and shifter linkage w/ shiftter
The ECU will always have a check engine light because it will always be looking for the automatic transmission, and the cluster will always show the vehicle to be in park. it will reqiure some fabrication on the shift linkage mounting. SO a different ECU and cluster if you cared.
AS for the mounting of the engine, it basically drops in, as long as the engine comes with the proper mounts, may need to do some grinding. Wiring is always the worst part. try getting a conversion harness to match the ECU, they are only like 200$ and will save you lots of time.
