Default Installed Short Shifter and Bushings

I jus installed an obx short shifter and energy suspension bushings. I notice the shorter throw, but there is a lot of resistance to each shift. You really have to jam it into gear. Is this because of the shift stabilizer i changed for the energy suspension one? Has anyone else experienced this?

short shifters make the shifts a bit harder since you have moved the lever point higher. this effectively gives you less leverage for shifts.

the bushing kit will firm things up a bit as well. its probably just a culmination of things.

...but you shouldnt have to jam it in gear. that doesnt sound right...

you sure its just not notchy???

I experienced the same thing when I replaced my shifter and bushings...the way i solved this problem was to loosen that bolt that goes through your shifter and bushings...

keep in mind though...
1) too loose will give you a sloppy feeling shift
2) too tight will make it tough to shift

so you have to do a little trial and error to figure what feels best for you...good luck
