When I start my car, its starts from normal idle speed (1000) and slowly go up to cold idle (1600) and then when its really warming up it goes back down slowly.

 

That is what it is supposed to do. Automatic choke takes it a little below two grand on my car when cold outside then is drops down to 850 I advanced my timing so yours might be a little lower.

 

this is normal and there are a few reasons for it.

fast idles when cold warm the engine up faster, the oil is pumped at a higher pressure than regular idle (helps it get around better when the oil is cold) and there are a few other reasons.

 

i advanced my timing and my idle is the same. Is it supposed to change?

 

my idle at normal operating temp is a little too low.. about 600 +-50.
what does this affect? do i need to adjust it?

 

my car also idels under 1000. how the hell do u fix this? i tried turning the screw but all it does it make differnent idle sounds.

i think i need to adjust my throttle cable. cause i messed with it awhile ago.

 

Check the throttle linkage. A loose linkage will definitely effect your idle.

 

...In addition, check with your owners manual (i think) or your mechanic (Honda / Acura) for a proper idle.

 

i know this not normal because it use to never do this on my gsr head.

 

for b18b1 is supposed to be 750rpm +/- 50rpm. mine is at 750rpm steady at normal temp

 

it idles very low when the engine is cold. below 1000 but it slowly goes up and then goes back down when the engine is warmed up
