Default 310fwhp & my traps.

hey guys just wanted to get your opinion on my trap speed vs. my whp. i ran a 13.0 @ 110 at around 12.5-13lbs of boost. I dynoed in at 310fwhp @ 13.7lbs of boost.....shouldnt my traps be higher than 110mph for that much horsepower? i think i should be trapping around 114mph or so..... what do you all think? thanks.

SAE corrected HP, and Traps will be different depending upon your Altitude.

yeah, the altitude is very low, and the 310 is SAE corrected, but it was at 13.7lbs of boost and i ran at about 12.5 to 13lbs, would like 1lb of boost make 4mph less trap speed?

what was your UNcorrected HP?

There are a ton of factors, but a Porky car + slight change in boost + a little altitude all comes in to play.

i honestly dont remember uncorrected, but it wasnt too much more. the turboXs boost controller im using is a POS and i have to adjust boost like everytime i turn the car on, so im trying to get it right at 13.5-13.7 which is hard as **** next time i run, n if i get it like .1lb higher i hit boost limiter.

Also do you know if i can change boost limiter on hondata with just datalogging or do i have to do it thru the ECU and EPROM? b/c i wanna be running right at 14lbs but i cant because right when the turbo spools it spikes about 1lb high (at 13.7 it spikes to about 14.9) and the boost limiter is set at 15lbs, so i need to put it to about 15.5 so i ran run exactly 14lbs.....anyone know?

The Uncorrected HP will be less than the corrected (unless your below sealevel ). For the boost limitier, you will need to burn a new rom.

damn, alright. yeah i honestly have no idea whatsoever what my uncorrected whp was...

but im thinking if i get an electronic boost controller (HKS EVC) will that prevent that 1lb boost spike when it begins to spool? or does that have to do with the wastegate..... thanks a lot.

Better than my 1st time to the track last year...
about 309 whp/93 si hatch/14-15psi
yokohama paradas (16")
my driving (drove through the waterbox, let off before the finish not knowing where it was)
crappy 2.6+ 60 ft
end result= 14.2 @ 110mph

the only good thing was that I beat the mr2 turbo next to me (he ran a 14.3@94mph of course I dint catch him till 3/4 way down the track

that being said, I think I could have got 115mph or so out of it if I had not let off too soon...hope this helps.

You have a light weight EG hatch, not really comparable to an SI. SI's weighed 2612 from the factory. Turbo kit added a guesstimated 50, how much do you weigh? I'll say 170. Add in all your fluids plus gasoline and you're looking at a car that probably weighs 2900+ pounds.

also, anyone know if getting rid of the POS turboXS dual stage MBC and going with an HKS EVC electronic boost controller will get rid of that 1lb spike when the turbo begins to spool?

I put down 306 at 10psi with a little spike so I am about 280-290 hp. My best time on bfg 205/50/15 was 12.6 @114 full interior 3/4 tank of gas weighed 2450

damnit thats about what my whp is and same tires....but my car is still a little heavier...hopefully my next run will be closer to my peak boost setting and hoping for higher traps. Also tire pressure seems to affect trap speed too, from what ive experienced...
