Anyone rattlecan their side moldings or mirrors? Milano Red?
I am considering using the Duplicolor spray for my wifes Milano Red Civic. I want to paint the side moldings and mirrors and would like to see some pics if anyone has done this before. Thanks in advance.
We did it before. Came out good. Although it depends on the age on the quality of the paint. Pretty much meaning it looked better on 99-00 Milano Civic then it did on my friends aged 94 GSR.
alot of body shops offer your exact paint color mixed in a can for you.. its the best way to go besides using a spray gun, just remember to clean the oils from the plastic and give it a good prepping before painting
some body shops will do it, and so will automotive paint shops.
If you go to a paint shop, they will look up you color code, and pack the paint into a rattle can. Also pick up some plastic adheasion promoter. If you have an older car thats faded, you can take in something small, like your fuel-door lid, and they can mix the paint to match that.
The last time i did this, it was 7 dollars a can, wich is high for spray paint BUT it was worth it b/c the paint quality is better then dupli-color. Its the same stuff they use in air guns, only its pre-mixed and put in a spray can.

I did it last summer with rattle cans. I would recommend using a sprayer, but since you don't have access to one, spray cans would probably work fine. It wasn't red though. Here is the writeup I did:

You do have another option which I now use for touch up jobs. It's called preval it's avaliable at paint supply stores and home depot and such. You buy the exact matching paint single or dual and mix it with the correct amount of thinner (Ask the guy at your paint supply store). Pour it in the preval and spray. They cost about 5 dollars for the bottle and can. Refills are about 3 dollars. You will probably need 2 for base and clear and some refills. Preval.com should have more info to explain this to you.
