i have a stewart warner oil pressure gauge and i dont know where to begin, i know i have to find the oil pressure sending unit but i have no clue where it is on my d15, all i could find was b series. How do i hook this thing up, need immediate help i have to be done in like 30 mins

 

Its located about 2 inches above your oil filter.

 

k now where do i go from there?

 

you need to install a "T" so you can run your gague, and the stock sending unit.

 

You need a 1/8" BSPT to 1/8" NPT fitting to connect to the block after you remove your stock sending unit, then another 1/8" NPT fitting to connect to that. Be careful about placing a T right off the back of the block, people have had problems with their blocks being damaged.

Do a search for "oil pressure sending unit" or "oil pressure gauge". Somewhere there is a good write-up of how to do this.

OR...you can just use the oil passage that's closed with a hex-key stopper under your dizzy. There's one for coolant and one for oil - I used that passage for my Autometer oil pressure gauge and it's been working fine for almost a year now.

i nets been down, ok now i found the thing but how the heck would i be able to unscrew it, because there is no room i swear i done broke something trying to get my hand to it.. what size is it also, plus i have a stewart warning gauge and it has a sending unit and all, my friend told me i would just unscrew the oil pressure thing then screw my sending unit in where it was?

 

im ready to get this thing in, i only have 45 mins of sunlight left

 

I ran a stainless line from where the stock sender was to a T on the firewall, then plugged the sender into that...

That way I don't have to worry about vibrations hurting anything...



I'm interested in seeing some pictures of the sender near the dizzy... sounds like an easier install than this...

so i dont just screw in my sender that came w/ the gauge?

 

better yet how do i get that f'n stock sender out, what size wrench and how do i get enough space w/o taking the oil filter off

It's big, but smaller than 1", I can't remember how big it is... go out there and find the wrench that fits, then you will know
