Rusted Axle?
So I just got back from lunch; on the way I heard/felt what could be a pop, a weird hesistation, from the front right while making a sharp/hard right hand corner. So I decided to take a qiuck look under the car. I looked at the cv joint, it looked old, and slightly dusty, no sign of grease on the outside (good). Then I noticed the axle.
The passenger's side axle was rusted, the powder coating had flaked off from the cv joint boot collar inwards about 4-5 inches. I then noticed the driver's side powder coat is perfectly intact. Is this a sign of a greater problem?
I hope my cv joint isn't screwed. But the pop, it wasn't loud, and it wasn't really a pop, could have been because I was coming out of a driveway with a sudden transition.
important stuff is in bold.
