technically it's a "6" even though everyone says it's a "6.5". a 5.25" will work with some manipulation, and a full 6.5 will work with some spacer rings assuming you have the room.

</TD></TR></TABLE>It's a standard 6.5" front and rear, Honda/Acura has been using them since they switched from there "standard" 4" speakers, they also use a "standard" 6x9 in some of ther cars, Teg 4 doors and some Civics and so on.
Its only over the last 5 years or so the speaker manufacturers, [Alpine, Pioneer, Panasonic] and the rest have started making 6.5" speaker that are bigger then the standard 6.5", [mounting hole bigger then 5"]
Back in the "old" days unless you got MB quart or one of the other Euro speakers, here in north america , [what was used in NA cars] you could get
1- 3.5" kitty corner mount
2- 4" square 4 hole mount
3- 4x6" rectangle 4 hole mount
4- 5.25" square 4 hole mount
5- 6.5" round 3, 4 or 6 hole mount
6- 4x10" rectangle 4 hole mount
7- 5x7" rectangle 4 hole mount [ Chry.]
8- 6x8" rectangle 4 hole mount [ Ford ]
9- 6x9" rectangle 4 hole mount
No matter who the manufacture was they all had cone sizes that were the same and the baskets were all within 1/8" of each other.
All these speakers are still used today in north american and import cars, the fact that car audio speaker manufactures are making speakers that are bigger, [6.5"] and still calling them 6.5" is what is confusing the buyer. only made more confusing because some manufactures still make a standard 6.5" and call it that.
One more thing, check the size of the cone of any of the above speakers or the speaker itself and try and figure out how they came up with the sizes, [a lot of rounding off, up and down]. nuff said.
