vtec, please explain
If this is too much of a noob question and you want to shoot me, i understand.
I have been reading some stuff on these forums and people are talking about the VTEC kicking in. They are also talking about VTEC controllers. These aren't stock, correct? How do they work and what kind of an output increase is there?
Thanks

They simply work by changing the RPM that vtec engages. The gains are made by further tuning the air/fuel ratio of the engine at different RPM's, but if its used to simply change the vtec engagement point, they are likely losing power and not gaining it.

Hondata, Uberdata, Chrome...etc. are also good solutions, and are very tunable beyond the VAFC's.

Agreed....do yourself a favor and reshearch the topic a little more, before buying a VAFC (which arent very good in my opinion). Go uberdata or something of that nature which is free and easy to learn. But these things are all to gain power to answer your question like previously said. They change the vtec cross over point and air/ fuel curves etc.
