I hit a curb last night and to my surprise both of my airbags went off. The car shut down immediately afterwards and I could not get the car to start (doesn't even crank, no sound).

Anyone know if there is a mechanism in SRS that kills the ignition when the airbags are deployed?

Anyway, I tried a few things from https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1090951 and https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=976465 to try to get the car to start but no dice.

Pulled the SRS fuse, reset ECU - nothing
Deleted the DTC memory - nothing
Reset ECU again - nothing
pulled the SRS fuse again and reset ECU again - nothing.

Help

The car is a '96 DC2 btw.

 

your better off to have it towed to the dealer.........its gonna cost you and arm and a leg to fix

 

I'm not even worried about replacing the airbags at this point. I just want to get it started so it can sit safely in my garage. Thankfully, I managed to get it street parked with the help of another car.

I'm pretty sure there isn't any serious damage (wasn't a serious accident at all, more like a hard bump), so I would rather avoid having to shell out for towing costs if possible..

Still waiting for someone who may have had a similar experience ..

when i got in a wreck with my '96 (full blown wreck, airbags and everything) my car kept running and i started it many times with the airbags deployed.

Mite be something with the engine - just a hunch

 

Check all your engine grounds, check the engine fuse box, check the inside fuse box, make sure your connections on the starter and alternator are working properly, make sure the battery connections are all there, etc.

 

not sure if integras have this but i think some domestics do.
when the car is hit and the bags go off, some part forgot what disables the fuel pump and someother stuff for safety reasons.
