Hey whats up everyone, i just completed my lsvtec build, put it in the car and started her up. No major problems except for an odd noise ive never heard before. It was a high pitched whistle/squeal. Almost like air rushing through a small openning, but not exactly. Not VERY loud, but u can definatley hear it well. I tracked it to the air filter, then removed the filter and intake tube, and started the car again and I heard it coming from throttle body, definatley from that area.

I did the normal vaccum leak checks, no hoses unpluged, nothing obvious. What could this noise be? The motor is an ls bottom end, gsr head, and I added a JG intake manifold with hondata gasket. The only thing i could think of is the throttle body gasket possibly, but i didnt have any more time to check things out. And the motor runs well, not like it had a vaccume leak.

Any ideas? thnx for anyones help on this one. If i can Ill get a vid clip later so you can hear the sound.

is it at all rpm ranges???

probably just a difference in opening size in between the intake mani and head

 

the problem was that the iac valve did not seal well on the edelbrock mani, it was not a big enough leak to be detected with intake cleaner but after sealing it with rtv sealen the noise has stopped
