Default which one?

ok... i know im gonna get a USE THE SEARCH BUTTON response but which models came with a vtec engine stock?

i know that these came with vtec engines stock

Delsol Si D16
Delsol VTEC B16
Civic Si 99-00 B16
Civic Si 92-98 D16

Now what other models came with even a D16Z or D16Y??? i am vaguely familiar with both the D and Bseries motors but i have yet to understand the differences between the Y series heads and the Z Series heads.

as everyone else i would LOVE to get a car that came with a B16 in it but i really dont wanna spend 10k on a honda... i can get a LT1 T/A for that.... so i have pretty much ruled out the idea of a b16 powerd car because the only one that i could've afforded even possibly would have been a delsol vtec but its a 2 seater and thats part of my problem right now. so im guessing i have to go civic hatch(92-00) or coupe(96-00)(not getting a sedan they are fugly)

now am i looking for a car that in near impossible to find in america or are there a whole slew of these out there. also what companys make a decently large cam for a D-Series engines? and what is the stock bottom end usually able to handle rpm-wise, if the valvetrain has been built?

4dr owns you!!

anyways, why not just get a b16 swapped honda civic hb/coupe? they shouldn't go over 10k stock.

one reason being my insurance company wont insure a car if it didnt come with that series of motor in that generation of that car.... so i cant get a 94hatch with a B16 like i want.... plus im poor and would like to just work on a SOHC right now unless i happen to find someone who just wants to get rid of a 99-00si for CHEAP...

get some better insurance, then do the swap. you could have a B16'd hatch for 5k pretty easily.

make one.....

get a older hatch(they go for relatively cheap, anywhere from 1000-2500 for an EG) and then buy a B16A Full conversion. you can do it for under 6k

I have a '98 Civic Ex that has a B16y8 stock in it. SOHC VTec. I paid around 10,000 at a car dealership for it. If you don't wanna spend that much then, look in the papers. Just about all EX models have a VTec.

sohcs have good torque and fuel economy but aren't going anywhere fast n/a. they respond really well to light boost though, and can actually be a cheaper alternative to a motor swap if you can do the work yourself. if you have to be n/a, its the dohc you want. personally I think both those are really good options for a daily driver.
