hey everyone!
Just another question. On my b18c1 i am having problems with my oil check light. When i am driving and get to cruising and then go to brake for a stop light or something wher i have to apply moderate braking my oil check light flashes on for a second then goes out. i though my oil might be low but i checked it and its fine. I am stumped and cannot figure this out. i just hope its not serious and to prevent any damage i stopped driving it for now. what could it be??? any help would be great. thanks again guys!!!!

 

oil light = oil pressure, you have low oil pressure

 

Thanks. what sould i do about it. i am lost. also why would it only occur after the rpms come down or during braking. is the oil pump bad???

 

Re-check your oil level. Make sure the engine is off for a while and make sure it's on a very flat surface when you check it.

 

i couldn't tell you how to fix it, and mine does the same thing when I get low on oil, if I brake really hard, oil light will flicker and then go off, but I check my oil religiously, just a few times have a i let it get low, im sure someone else can help you more than I can

 

oil level is fine. right at second dot.

That's really weird. That light comes on when oil pressure is under 7 or 5psi (one or the other). That is dangerously low pressure. I idle at 25lb and top rev around 75psi. Could be the oil pump going bad, clogged filter or a bad oil pressure sensor.

 

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I have the same problem on my LS, any cures?!

My oil level is fine but when I brake or deccelerate the oil light flickers on.
