Default OWNED, Me, hit by a truck now tranny is FUBAR

So I got rear-ended today by a big *** truck while stopped in traffic and punted into the car in front of me. Car runs but is pretty badly damaged. To top it off the tranny (this is an automatic 90 4 door) slips now when I start from a dead stop. I am thinking something was jarred loose or damaged etc. Any ideas that I can take to the insurance company so I can get a rental or something, I really dont want to drive the car. Thanks.

And that is what is wrong with the world today. Everyone wants to sue someone. Dude, why not just go through his insurance company and tell them the story and demand a rental car. He screwed your **** up and now you're drifting down the river without a paddle.

Now if they DO NOT agree or completely blow you off.... then that is the time to bring up suing them. But not right off the back man... jeez.

the thing is, just tell the insurance company exactly what happen to your car both damage of the exterior and mechanical damage.

I don't get it. If you know how to deal wth insurance companies, why are you asking about how to fix it? A '93 with front and rear damage is totaled, without a doubt. Just get your money and go shopping.

Ok, I know the insurance people will pay me off for it, but for my own edjubication can an impact harm engine internals and transmission bits, in particular my auto tranny on my LX? Thanks
