what speakers fit in the stock speaker holder thingy?
everytime i go to buy new speakers, they are always to goddamn big, and they wont fit inside the speaker holder. i have shitty profiles, they say 6.5" on the back, and every 6.5" i get is wayyy to big?
which ones fit? i dont feel like cutting **** or removing the holder either. thanks

Cut the back out of them....it works...I have done it like 6 times....you don't cut out the whole thing...just cut and test/cut and test......once it fits put it in....

Not many quality aftermarket speakers clear that plastic holder....you will need to trim.

seriously, i bought 2 pairs and NONE fit. Also, most all of them are 4 screws. civics have 3 screw holes. what the ****? the civic, the most modified car in the ****** country doesnt have a standard speaker size. **** that.

Not sure if a 4-door would make a difference. I popped in some alpine type-s 6 1/2's. Fits fine. Just use dynamat on anything metal it touches.

Yeah...I caught that...NOW....jeez. 90% of the speakers I've seen in hatches the magnets are too large for the plastic speaker holder thing. So Its either get really small sucky speakers or find ones with small magnets that rock out.....or just cut the darn thing...its easy.

ya the moisture shield isnt going to cause your car to explode if it has a small hole in it... and i have 6.5" in my 93 si and they fit fine
4 door rear speakers are the same too...for some reason they tend to not fit right...some custom cutting would have to be done if you have aftermarkets with huge magnets...same thing with my 4 Do' ...annoying
When I upgraded my front door speakers to 6.5" JBL's, I was only able to use two screws to hold them in place versus the three that held in the paper factory speakers. The JBL's are in there pretty tight, so I'm not too worried.
its fine cutting the rear out of it. i can dremel it...but, the biggest problem i have is the diameter of the 6.5" speakers i buy are larger than the stock ones. which are supposed to be 6.5"
cut the whole thing out except where the speaker screws into the panel, and just drill holes where needed for the screws.. not sure about 92's exactly but i had to modify the whole thing to fit a set of 5 1/4's in my 98...the magnet on my mb quarts are huge.
