Default P2E ECU run a B18b???

I don't drive an EG/EK but I know you guys know this.

This kid at my job is getting his 96 dx coupe d16y7 swapped for a b18b and the guy doing the swap is telling him he can run his DX ecu, which I looked up on here to be a "P2E"

Now I know in pre-obd era this is a seriously stupid thing to do, even if the engine does start it wont run right. Totally wrong fuel maps, redline, etc.

Is there some trick this guy knows or is he without a clue? I don't think he would be chipping it. Just trying to help this kid out before he gets f-ed over.

Thanks guys.

It should run it. The b18b I had in my EF hatch ran better on a PM6(88-91 SI ecu) than it did on a PR4 ecu.

Don't know what to tell you but, My plugs always looked great in my b18b when I ran it on the PM6.

I with you, yes it will run the motor, but for how long on those fuel maps.. who knows. But i would tell the kid just to go get a ls teg ecu, and plug it in. Its not like those are hard to find.
