Default D16 Tranny (gear) Oil

I am looking into buying some Penzoil Syncromesh for my D16 (EX/SI) tranny, and I was wondering what weight I should use, and how much my tranny takes! Thanks!

I don't think there's different weights for Pennzoil Synchromesh. It's just one bottle. Same stuff as GM Synchromesh FM and cheaper than Honda MTF

I got two qts of it sitting here for my tranny swap next week. I searched h-t and most threads say just under 2 qts is required.

Pennzoil Syncromesh oil certainly DOES have a weight ... they just don't bother to tell you on the bottle. I really hate that dumbed-down approach to lubricant sourcing.

It's a 9.1 cSt which translates (roughly) to a 80 weight ... perhaps a 70W-80 or 75W-80.

Yeah, but there's only one bottle and one choice so it doesn't really matter because you can't choose different ones.

True ... but that's been part of my point for the last few days in that thread and others. Hondas call for a thicker fluid than Pennzoil Syncromesh.

That's why I'd prefer to use the thicker Red Line fluids (MTL or a mix of MTL & MT-90) or Specialty Formulations MTL-P.
