There is a pin and a spring that holds the clutch pedal to the assembly. I'm 90% sure you can get just the pedal out. Taking out the whole pedal assembly is a pain in the a$$. It involves droping the steering column and pulling some of the duct work.

to actually work on the assembly, you have to drop the steering column and take everything out. its a PAIN, but its do-able. ... i've had to do it several times. i broke my clutch pedal last year.

the pedal is actually fine, its the pivot point mounts that rust a bit and break.

i pulled mine out, rewelded it, and gusseted/supported the area to ensure it wouldnt happen again.

i had to drive home without the clutch! thats HARD on the trans!

No you don't, but it does help.

Usually when the pedal breaks, its the assembly not the pedal, the pedal is actually like 1/4 or 1/2 steel which should never brake.

I have converted crxs to manuals, the pedals are one of the most difficult things to do in the swap. I just did one on a 94 civic and it was so much easier, so much more room. Plus it was 2 piece so the clutch peal did not need to go around the steering column.

Can't remember how many bolts there are. If you under the steering column brackets, you can pull the column down about 4 to 6 more inches.

If you get all the bolts out and it wont budge, its cause you missed one. Its directly under the guage cluster. The only way to get it is to drop the collumn, then pop out the air duct hoses that are under neath the cluster area.

good luck.
