Default Help Identifying Myster Piece *PICTURE INCLUDED*

Hey guys. I've posted in the past about this piece but nobody knew what I was talking about. I finally ran across another thread that had a decent pic of sohc vtec head and I made a little visual for you guys to work with.

The piece seems to be a brace that keeps the rocker arms from wiggling from side to side. This mystery piece on cylinder 1 has broken in half. Not into pieces. The piece rings around the cam shaft like a ring would fit around your finger. Ok i think i'm giving too much info, but I need to know the part so I can find out what it is and replace it.

- There is 1 above each spark plug hole, making 4 total
- Seems to be a spacer to keep the rocker arms from having side to side play
- It's made of a really thin metal.

thanks to whoevers picture this originally was

Ok i did my best, hopefully someone can help me this time cya

FOUND ANOTHER PICTURE!!! Here is a better picture actually. You can see it if you look hard enough. It's a VERY THIN metal piece. Refer to my first image if you can't spot what i'm talking about.

its supposed to be, its some sort of lubricant since theres no oil and you need something good until it starts up, my bro's head had it when he got it back from the machine shop after gettin a cam installed

Thanks Menkio! U are a cool one.

I dont think its called the rocker arm spring. Because.... It's not a spring. lol.

I know that in the Non-vtec heads there is a spring that sits between them though

it may not be your typical spring, but it is a "spring"

Yeah, without that part I'd be scared of one of the rocker arms moving and killing my cam or floating a valve, etc.
