ok..I replace my thermostat on a new car I bought..It's a 91 crx w/ b16a.
I havn't driven the car much, but I have never seen the fan come on.also the bottom radiator hose has never been anything but cool to the touch.and I just realized the my radiator doesn't seem to be heating up at all...I can hold my hand against it when the engine and top hose is scary hot...could my radiator be that clogged??should I flush it or just replace if so..thanks for any help

that happened to me a few months ago. try to replace your ran switch on back of your block. then if that doesnt work maybe you got a stuck closed thermostat. i think thats wat happened to me so i just dont run with one no more cause it blew my head gasket so now i get scared to put it back on.
i have a brand new radiator in my LS hatch and the top one is hot and the bottom is cold also.. i think its supposed to be like this right? the hot fluid comes in the top hose from the motor then to the radiator to be cooled the back to the motor with cool fluid (the bottom hose).. my car doesnt over heat or anything, it stays nice and cool
also my fan would never come on either, like it didnt get hot enough or somthing. So I just spliced the wires and twisted them together so its on all the time, no problems at all.
Alot also depends on weather conditions. If the weather is cold and you are using your heater, there is a good chance that the heater (and direct dissipation from the engine block) can do all the cooling. The radiator is not needed in this type of condition. When this happens, your thermostat is not even opening and no water is flowing through the radiator. However, since there is nothing to stop water from flowing through the top hose via natural convection, the top hose WILL get hot.
