Default Question about 450cc injector idle w/stock ecu - startability

Before you start flaming - this question relates to a cheap, more or less passive car security DIY. First off, yes, I plan on getting a bad-*** alarm in addition...but I figure the more the merrier.

Since I'm planning on running uberdata with dsm 450's and a slightly higher fuel pressure, I got to thinking. Since the uberdata program can be bypassed by simply cutting the jumper in the ecu, why not rig up a switch to run the stock maps? If a theif did somehow bypass the alarm, my guess is that with around twice the fuel being dumped into the motor, it'd barely start, if at all, since it may just get flooded.

The other possibility is that they'd haul it away with a truck. For just a few $ and time, you could set up your car so that the extra few hours (?) it'd take them to figure things out, they may have to dump the car w/o stripping as much, possibly w/the motor left in too thinking it's junk?

I'd like to hear your ideas, and if anyone has tried starting any B's or D's with dsm 450cc injectors on stock fuel maps. Thanks.

Why not just rig up that same switch to just shut off the fuel pump relay? That seems like a better option IMO.

The car will run enough to be moved with the stock program using 450's. I did it on my car...stunk like crazy and smoked like a chimney, but it did run well enough to get it off of the street and into the garage.

that's a good idea you can also get a toggle switch and run it between the fuelpump + side wire rought from where your fuelpump fuse is in a clean and discreet way and mount the switch in a spot that is not easy to find. you can also get a silent alarm with a pager that vibrates and as a anoying sound that will wake you for sure so while they out trying to find out what the hell is wrong with your car you can do 1 of 2 things call the cops and let them know a robery is in progress or you can get your gun and pistolwip there ***. and if you think that it will get towed then the only thing i can say is buy a external video cam and mount it in a spot where it get a good angle on the car with at least 180* of servailence<spelling< thats your only option on that one.

yea, just wire an ECU power kill and a fuel pump kill, put them in different places.....and just pull the ecu fuse when you get out of your car....should keep them guessing
