i just picked up a z6 head for my b7 block and i wanted to pick up a new cam gear for it but i dont know which one to look for.

should i look for a d16z6
or
a d15b7

im assuming its a z6 but i just want to double check before i make a purchase

It's a Z6 head so your gonna want to buy for Z6.

ok well the z6 is off an EG and its going into another eg

does it matter if the description states its for a 96-00?

like the cam is for a D-series but it says 96-00 but i need it for my 93 z6 head

o know the Ek vtec's are Y8 and the Eg's are Z6

but do they use to same cam gears? are they interchangable?

 

I am pretty sure that all D series stuff is interchangable. Not sure about the heads, but my guess would be that they will work.

 

techinically yes but to keep it simple just buy one for a z6
