Default Painting Interior Plastics

I own a 91 CRX and saw these pictures on a door panel removing thread:

What is the best prep/method/type of paint to do this type of cosmetic work?

Thanks a lot

You should see if you can get some adhesion promoter, it'll help to aid the paint in sticking to the plastic. But I would say don't do it from experience

Please for the love of God, don't paint your interior pieces...unless you're de-ricing and going back to oem.

If you REALLY want to do it make sure you use jDm p3n15 p1nK and use a adhesive promoter.

yeah for real, and just soak them in paint thinner instead of even painting them back black.

Once again, I beg you not to paint your interior panels...

I wasn't planning on painting the entire panel, just little accents like in the pics.

Is even that looked down upon?

On Honda-Tech..........yes.

And BTW, if you want your interior pieces to still fit, dont soak them in paint thinner, it will melt the **** out of them.

Good to know, im gunna make a new post about keeping my exterior trim looking stock...hopefully restore some faith.

Im in the process of planning/saving up for my z6 rebuild and "flashing" up the interior seemed like a neat idea to do something for my car while im gaining funds. But, putting the money to making the outside looking nicer (and stock) will be more well spent than "ricing" my interior.

No I can agree with you but you're not painting interior pieces...I was mainly referring to using things that function versus things that just add useless bling/stunna effect to your ride.

Honestly I would look into putting in some del sol seats and just cleaning up the interior using either new oem parts or restoring what you have; you would be amazed as to what minor work can be put into a interior with huge results . Do some research around the crx forum or pm other members and gather some ideas as to what you want to do. I would much rather spend my money on things that worked on my car like engine goodies or suspension pieces etc etc rather than painting my interior .

just my 2 cents.
