compustar is okay but too many safety features in it. I hate the fact that if I re-enter the car without remote starting the car that the remote start will not work the next time around and I have to manually start the car. If anyone knows how to bi pass this let me know. thanks.

Got it installed today with all the bells and whistles. LOVE IT! How can you say that one of the best car alarms out there is gay and is crap? Why did you buy it then? Anyways, is your car 5spd. or auto? Mine is 5spd. so you have to always shut it off in reservation mode or you will no be able to remote start it. I am not sure about not having it not work the next time after that. I am guessing it's because reservation mode was cancelled. Have I mentioned that this alarm rules!

Viper . Been there done that. Hated it and had the worst distance ever . I had the people download all the extras for free from there compustar programmer . Alarm cost me nothing and the install was free . A friend of mine works there. I have the brand new FM 2 way that has a max dis. of 6000ft. The longest I have seen. It is a true 2 way (not like the old ones) and is sending signals back and forth all the time. The extra features would be like auto lock and unlock (when you walk up to 10ft. of your car it will automatically lock and same with when you go away from it). Also some turbo adjusting stuff, etc. I am not about to share what these "extras" are that are programmed in due to liability and such, but they are sure nice .

Oh and this alarm is true 2 way so there is no delay.

Modified by Bond at 1:23 AM 4/1/2005</TD></TR></TABLE> Bossman032 is having a problem with his alarm, I think its install related, He ***** all over Compustar when anyone asks, I have installed 100s of them and as I have said, when they first came out, like anything else, they had some problems, but now, I and many others think its one of the best alarms, alarm/starters out there, very good and dependable units, and most agree. range from hell.

How do I shut off reservation mode? I have a 5spd and I also have the turbo timer on bc I'm turbo. But, when the car is still running (due to turbo timer) and if I forget something in the car and I unlock and open the door I won't be able to remote start after that unless I put the key in the iginition.

Reservation mode will cancel or be shut off if you do what you have been doing. Enter the vehicle after leaving it (in reservation mode) and it will cancel. It's a saftey feature and you cannot bypass it. Just don't forget things in your car next time or just take a second and put it in reservation mode again. It's also for anti-grind remote start too. That's what I do and I don't mind it .
