Default exhaust problem

is it ok if my exhaust pipe is touching up against that arm ? this is the rear section of the catback where it goes under the arm and to the muffler on a 94 accord lx coupe .

yeaa i had a question about that . my cat-back is stiff from the flex pipe on the header all the way back to the muffler . i usually thought it should have some flexibility if i moved it around a little . so are you saying if it doesnt rattle, then it is alright ?

you should throw some foam tape on it, just so you dont hear a clanking when you hit bumps, the suspension will travel away from the exhaust pipe but when it comes back its gonna hit and not soft, eventually that will either dent it bad or completely put a hole in it

i wuld check on the pipe after a few drives,,, if you notice any dents/deep scratches, i would either get lower hanging hangers to try to give it a extra inch or less clearance... they cost like 3$ at r&s strauss.

It will either dent or scratch the pipe. After the pipe is scratched, the heat and water (rain) will make the pipe start rusting. Eventually, a hole will form there.

ok i fixed it now . but now i got another problem . everything else is fine except that both of my cat and resonator are now touching the side of the driver side heat shield . but it is only touching against one corner/edge of the cat and one corner/edge of the resonator where they both meet . will the same rust problem happen if i leave it like that as well ?

one more thing, i believe the problem could be that it is either my megan racing header or the h23 that is making the mid section of the exhaust go to the side like that, but i cant really confirm on that, either that or i just dont know how to install . i didnt have this problem when i used my stock header and 2.25" piping though . and also within in 5 mins i saw white smoke (not alot, very vague, like cig smoke) and smelled something burning like rubber . i looked in my engine bay and under my car real quick and i seen smoke around my flex pipe and coming up against the firewall . i didnt have time to look under the car right now because i need to go to work in a few mins . but what do you think it is ? shift cables ?

and one morrrre thing, one of my runners on my header is about 1/2 - 1 inch away from my alternator . do you think i need to wrap some header wrap on it ?
because the header become hot really quick .

If the piping is rubbing against the heat shields, you can easily bend the thin heat shields away from the piping.
