Default Just replaced clutch....still having trouble...

I had just recently replaced my clutch it just completly gave out. I was unable to get the car into gear. and so i bought a full clutch kit and had it installed last week. and its not a clean shift at all its almost like how it was before but a little stiffer. For a good while i couldnt get my car in gear when i was stuck in traffic then it came...ummm im thinking master cylinder is a worn or needs replacement. what do u guys think...all comments appreciated...

Master Cylinder? What are you talking about? There are master cylinders on hydraulic transmissions, NOT cable transmisions! You might be in the wrong forum if you think its the master cylinder.

If you have a cable transmission, check the clutch cable. I hope when you replaced the clutch you had the flywheel resurfaced and put the clutch and pressure plate back on correctly. I hope you also changed the pilot and release bearings. I lastly hope you changed the transmission fluid.

i requested for the flywheel to be resurfaced but my mechanic said their was no need to resurface the flywheel. he said it was in good shape. i changed fluid and bearings all that ..

Try adjusting the clutch cable..mine used to do the same thing, and i adjusted it, and it was like new. Make sure you turn it clockwise though.

I like this one - Clutch Break-In.
But in all reality if you search for Clutch Break in the archives you will find many others.
