Default valve spring tool

my friend is goin to help me install my ITR cams and valve springs, but before we start he asked me if i had a tool to do the srpings. my friend that works at advanced gave me one, i told my friend and he said it may not work. if youve done springs, did your tool look like this?

I use one like that. It's a real pain in the ***, but it works.

nope u cant use that one. if ur do n the springs with the head still on the car then ur gonna need the SNAP ON universal Overhead valve spring compressor.
your gonna need one like this:

first off, r u gonna be do n this with the head on or off the block? and i dont think that tool will work either. if ur do n it with the head off, then u can also use one of those C-clamp style compressors. thats what i use when the heads off the motor. i use the snap on one when the heads still on the car. i really find it much easier to do the springs with the head off the car using the C clamps style compressor
