How long did your B18C1 swap take?
I am curious to see how long it took for a complete swap to take place in any '93-'95 hatches out there.
Days? Weeks? Months?
Here is a question which I know I could find the answer to by searching but since I've made a thread, someone could answer it too. Were new engine mounts needed or are stock mounts ok?
thanks

It took me 3 and a half days to install mine in my 96 coupe which is kinda more work because of the differently designed harnesses.
Thats including taking out the old motor, and changing the clutch on the newone. It was my first time swapping and I did it all by myself. The only problem I ran into was the motor wouldnt crank when I first tryed it, but it was the stupid tranny ground, and I also cracked my old radiator pulling out the old motor.

Searching for B18C1 - 2.5 years
Making transaction for B18C1 - 1 week
Waiting for the right time to put it in - 7 months
Install time - probably 2 days
The smile you get from planting the throttle - PRICELESS
But this is me and most people that buy a motor slap it in the next week. Oh well.

Actually, the price of that is 2.5 yrs and the money used to buy the gsr motor and time spent to install it.

First swap i did it took 6 hours in and out and it fired up with no codes. after that it takes only between 2-4 hours considering if there are codes
Yea man. I had my motor out, replaced the block, cams, timing belt and a few other things and back in and running in 8 hours. If you know what your doing, it takes no time at all. With the right tools of corse.
depends on how many swaps ur doing what distractions get ur way and what goes wrong also not having the right tools one thing to remember is when u run into a problem dont get all pissed just look at all posibilitys before quiting oh yeah buy cotter pins and make sure u take advantage of auto zone's free tool rentals
If you dont know what you are doing and are a first time i think it will probably take a good 8 hours or more. Plan on a good full saturday if you arent used to doing these things. If you know what you're doing then probalbly only a few hours. I've done one in 4 hours before. And yes you can reuse the stocke C1 mounts but new ones are always better than used.
im actually in the process of mine (GSR going into a 95 civic dx hatchback) and it took me about 2 hours to pull my d15b7 out, and probably looking at 8 hours putting the swap in, ran into some mount problems, needed a AC bracket modification, and had to rewire the harness with a few new wires, also installed a new suspension (ground control/koni yellows/eibach) and exhaust system. im just waiting on my header, once thats here which should be today or tommorow, i can fire her up, started this friday. ill reply to this once mine is up and running and possibly show you guys some pics
three days with NO engine hoist and ONE hydrolic jack. its hell i say
its so much easier with a hoist... but my neighbor was on vacation so i couldnt barrow it =[ doing a d16y7 swap was freakin' a breeze with a hoist...

Did you really have to ruin it.

see this is what you need to understand, the labor to actually put in the motor doesnt take long at all,
its the things your missing or fixing that take a toll on you
for instance i had to change a clutch change the short shifter, wait for parts to come in, broke some things in the process and stripped some nuts so had to get new ones
but after having the motor ready and setup to install it shouldnt take you more than 5-9 hours to put it in
worry more about the parts you are replacing and make sure you have all the tools you need because searching for tools or jacks really slows you down
