Motor blew... swap coming n need some insight
Well to make a long story short, last Friday I was heading to work on the highway and the idler seized causing the timing belt to snap and now its all screwed up. My options are to either fix the motor and send it to a machine shop or just bite the bullet and get a better motor. I do have somewhat of a budget, looking to stay under $3000 total which is pointing me towards the b18b. If I oder the complete swap from HMO is there anything extra Ill need to get the swap done?

Perhaps mounts. But If you're buying the complete changeover you should be golden. Good luck with the swap though. You made a good choice, I think i would've gone the same route.

thanx for the input... kinda feel like a chicked with its head cut off. Trying to figure out the best route. Besides changing out the clutch, are there any other things thats recommended I should change when I get the motor since it will be out?

also, from using the search, I noticed people having some issues with the tranny mounts. Will the proper ones come with the swap? Can the existing ones be used? I saw that there were some mix-n-matching going on in some threads

Water pump, tensioner and timing belt...but I would have assumed you learned that via the demise of your last powerplant.

Re: (CivicSwapper)
well ive been doing some more reading and it seems that the b16 is a more popular choice performance wise. But these were in production from 92-95, so its becoming pretty dated and Im kinda skeptical on HMO when they say "35,000 mile average...". Has anyone purchased a b16 recently through them? How is the motor holding up?
