Who in Chicago area has clutches in stock?
I broke my CM stage 3...and so far, my shop only has an Exedy Organic in. I read the adjustment issues with them, honestly, I'm all about doing it right the first time all the way through, and I'm very meticulous about things, but I'm still weary about the amount of work involved in installing an Exedy. I'm also now weary of CM, though I have never heard bad thigns aobut them. I was giving a little less abuse to this CM as I did to my stock 110K mile GS-R clutch and it broke...maybe just bad luck. So I'm considering lots of different things...should I install the Exedy? Should I get an ACT, another CM Stage 3? What do you guys reccomend? My car is road race/daily driver...not really into drag. 200whp. Oh, and I need it by Thursday. Thanks!
-Andrew
PS: sorry for my rambling, I just don't really care.

Try calling some of the shops mentioned in this topic. If they don't have it in stock, you (or they) are going to have to order it from someplace out of town...
"violin playing in the background".....*****...hehe just playin andrew...Hope you can find a sutable replacement. So the curse of breaking parts on that R continues...

I agree. I used to live right around the corner from their warehouse facility. Good choice if you are looking for clutches.

Keep in mind that CM clutches are refurbished units, not new. You may get a weak clutch here and there.

Not at all. Does it disappear when you engage the clutch??

Yes, quiet as a kitten when clutch is in. But i I sit in neutral I here some kinda chatter or what I would call excessive noise. I have an Exedy light weight flywheel an a CM stage
4 clutch.
All the bearing have been replaced, and I just don't know if this noise is normal or not.

Wrong information my friend. I didn't think you were right, but to make sure, I contacted clutchmasters via email, and I was pleasantly surprised by a very professional phone call at work today. Their people assured me that all of their clutches are brand new, not refurbished, with the exception of NSX units which are built from cores.

I just did a friction test of the stupid Kumho's and after that it wouldn't go into any gear...I replaced the SC, and then the MC (which didn't look bad, but I thought it might have been an internal leak)...but the problem was still there, albeit not as bad.

I dunno?
I've always heard great things about the CM3. I would replace it with another CM3, but no one has them around, and I need it by this Fri. to go home and getting further tuning done on Sat.

where the hell have you been?
the noise could be the throw out bearing rubbing on the diaphragm springs...make sure your pedal is adjusted correctly.
