Nothing too major here, I'm just looking for some people's opinions on different pads for stock brake equipment (rotors and calipers). I've currently got whatever the dealer put on, but they leave my wheels looking terrible from the dust.
So, essentially, any recomendations for pads that stop equal to, or better than, stock, and dust less?

If you're car is just a commuter, then stick with OEM pads. They don't dust much and are decent pads. For rotors, go with Autozone blanks. They're cheap, have a warranty and work well.

what makes you think those are better than any other blank rotors?

Exactly. You're just paying the extra money for the name.

Well, it is a commuter, but I'm trying to get into solo2. However, with the stock pads, since I can get the abs to kick in, the brakes obviously grip enough for my current tires.
But, it seems everyone thinks the stock don't dust that much, so I guess I'll have to have a talk with my Acura dealer, see what they put on my car, because I can't keep my gsr blades looking silver, they look gunmetal.

w/ solo 2, i think drilled rotors may bump you into a higher class, not sure but check the class rules. I've used both Brembo blanks and drilled rotors from a company named "Street Heat" (50 bucks for 2 drilled rotors, hmm, y not?) on stock, axxis metal masters and akebono pads. The metal masters are decent street pads but once heated they don't tend to cool off very quickly and dust out the a*s. the akebonos(sp?) just suck in my opinion. they heat up fast, have horrible fade but they don't dust like the axxis pads so i guess that's a plus. When i switched to the drilled, it helped a little bit w/ the brake fade but not much. I'd suggest the oem stuff w/ brake ducting. our cars aren't light and if you drive hard enough you'll def. want to cool the brakes down.

Try Axxis Ultimates. I've heard a lot of good things about those pads. I have them but I'm waiting for my Porterfield R4S pads to wear down. Those have been very good pads for street and track as well. But a bit expensive. tHe Ultimates are supposed to be very good as well but not as expensive.
Also keep in mind that the more performance orriented pads you buy the more dust you will get. It's just something you have to live with. But I'll take better braking over less dust anytime.
BTW, stay away from EBC Greens. I went through those pads faster than any other pad and they dust like crazy even though they say they don't dust.
Good luck!
