Default SuperSprint 4-2-1 Header

Hello,

Does the 4-2-1 SuperSprint stainless Steel header is a good header ? And does it worth the money (Here in France about 4200FF => 600$US) ?

Thanks

$600 a good price? That's expensive.
I think it's just like a USDM 4-2-1 header (like DC 4-2-1) because it has a 2" collector.....

I live in a relatively little city and the dealer here doesn't sell other header than supersprint.

I asked for headers to a dealer in a more big city (but far from my home) but he didn't have new prices for this (he said me to wait a couple of weeks).

Then the SuperSprint Header here is way too expensive for the HP gain, isn't it ?

I would go for a 2.5" header rightaway. You won't regret it. You already swapped your cat out, so you don't need a header that fits on your cat......
Aren't there any DC sports distributors in France? Maybe it's cheaper when you get it from germany......
You can buy the OEM JDM 4-1 header from your Honda dealer, but it's very expensive (around 900 Euro).....

I will ask for the dealer in Bordeaux (more big city) for a DC sport or a Type One.
This dealer is specialised on japanese cars and i think he is a Versus distributor.

OK for 65mm.
And 4-1 is better than 4-2-1 or is it the same (the dealer here said me it was no difference in HP) ?

Check the header test:
http://www.automotiveperformanceengi...om/header.html

4-2-1 with long primaries is the best setup...... IMO

...pardon my ignorance, but the European ITR doesn't have the same header as the JDM?

4-1 2.5`` only with bigger cams. With stock cams the bigger collectors size will slow down the velocity of airflow in lowrange. Means loss of torque from low-mid though better peak power at higer runs.

I agree, 421 with long primaries is the best setup, esspeciallyin Europe..

The Euro ITR has the better stuff.. It`s a 421 with 48mm inner diameter..

It's not about increasing the air velocity. More like keeping it the same. It's about maintaining the exhaust energy = don't go narrower than the exhaust port and don't go wider. Doing so, you will keep the exhaust energy to help pulling out the gasses of the next combustion cycle!!! In the header test they were using stock cams!! And they didn't loose any low/mid range torque.....

After seeing the stock Euro header I'm a bit disappointed. The primaries are only 40 mm OD. and the ID of the collector is 48 mm. I will post some pictures of the Euro header soon.....

But they used an intake.. That`s why the comptech performed as well. It was made to perform in addition to the comptech intake. Another point is the stock numbers of that R. Would you agree that this hp numbers are not from an average R ?

No secret that big 41 headers eat some torque from low-mid. That`s why 421 often is chosen. It`s all keeping volumina and velocity in harmony.

I had to learn the hard way by buying the wrong header in addition to my cams. After that I`ve spent a lot of time in research, speaking to many people and reading a ot of stuff.

Right now a custom exhaust is made for R. It`s inner diameter will be 55mm to fit exactly to my setup.

But that intake was there during all test, right?
What I mean is JDM 4-1 headers are also better than the stock 4-2-1 at low/mid rpm range. I am only comparing it to stock!!!!! I didn't say JDM 4-1 is better than JDM 4-2-1 at low/mid range......
