With the weight of an H22 up front, I would stick the 600's in front to help support the added weight of the larger and heavier engine.

400F/600R, better for track and drag. 600F/400R would be more of a street setup, since it won't rotate nearly as nicely.

I don't think Illuminas can take 600.

this is for a daily driven..so what does it mean by not rotating as nicely??

I don't think the illminas have stiff enough valving to handle a 600lbs spring BUT I may be wrong. You may get a bouncy ride if the shock can't handle the high rate and or prematurely wear out the shock.I think even konis (fully adjusted)are at their limit at 600lbs.

From what I've read, koni's are at their limit at 400. I highly doubt the Tokico's will hack it.

The only way to handle a 600 with a koni or bilstein is to have them revalved. Tein HA's are only good to 750.

I think instead of getting new shocks you should maybe change the 600 to a 500 or 450, its cheaper then changing shocks.Since you are not doing anykind of track events your shocks should be ok. Anyways 600 is pretty harsh for street. If you do keep the 6's put them in the front I don't think it will be so bad with the weight of the h22 on them.

Warren
Maybe he doesn't want a track/drag setup. Maybe he does, but I do not believe so. Anyway, I think the front would not be stable enough with just 400lb springs supporting the H22 engine.
Also, I am sorry but Tokico shocks are maxed out with a 300lb spring. They are best kept for a stock spring upgrade only. For 600/400 springs I recommend either "Neuspeed" Koni Yellows or Bilstein HD. Peace.

well i do occasional drags when they have local events, i think imma use the 600 up front and 400 in the back and when i take it to the track i'll just switch them around...but as for the shocks when i buy them should i buy them for an integra or it wouldnt make any difference??? thanks for your guys info...

Sorry 97 but there is no off the shelf bilstein hd or koni yellow thats going to take a 600lbs spring. Also the tokico illumina has more agressive valving then bilstein hd's.If your going to put any shock on a 300lbs spring it would be a HD. HD's are good shocks if you buy them to get them revalved as they are rebuildable otherwise stick with the tokico adj.

97 do you think that a stock prelude uses 600lbs springs up front from the factory?

I am just guiding him away from crap Tokico shocks, the ones I mentioned will be better apt to handle a stiff spring than any of the lesser off-the-shelf shocks. The only reason I did not mention full race shocks was because of the high price.

Also, I know that the Prelude does not come with 600lb front springs from the factory. It is probably more like 300lb give or take. If I knew he can control the car with 400/600 setup then I would say go for it, but I prefer to be more careful in advising this to someone who I do not know their driving abilities.

well i called ground control and they advised me to use Koni sports, they said it will be the best street shock to take the 600lb.....

why would the 400/600 setup be harder to control??? what kind of drving abilities would you need to drive with these spring rates???

That setup is just more setup to rotate the rear of the car under hard cornering. You have to know how to recover from a sliding rear to br safe with that setup.
