ECU upgrade vs VAFC 2?
hey guys,
im thinking of tuning my car after i installed my i/h/e. should i go for a gizzmo ecu upgrade? (www.gizzmoelectronics.com) or should i just go vafc2?
both will be dynotuned and may possibly re-tuned if when i add further mods..
I dont know much about hondata, could someone kindly inform me
my car is a JDM 98 ek sir with a b16a.
which do you reckon will be more beneficial to me?
thanks..

the VAFC is kind of like a piggy back...but aftermarket ecu is good depending upon the setup and numbers you want to get, and aftermarket computer IMHO better, in some cases though you can use both..what do you plan on running or what are your goals??
The VAFC is plenty sufficient for what you have at the moment and can easily handle a bit more than that. The biggest problem with any AFC is the lack of fine tuning, and the complete lack of control over ignition maps. Personally, I wouldn't go with any of the aforementioned options. I would convert to OBD-1 and run Crome (similar to Hondata, but cheaper) or contact one of the many ECU guys here on Honda-Tech and have them put a P28 together for your setup.
i hope on getting some internal work done, i.e cam gears, cam shafts..
at the moment untuned i think its capable of running in the high 14's, hopefully get it down to a high-mid 13 car?
