my buddy has an eg civic with a gsr motor swap. . For some reason, the motor doesn't EVER want to rev past 7500rpm. . . At 7500rpm the limiter just kicks in. . . The only explaination i have is maybe the tach is incorrect and the car is really at 8000 when it says 7500rpm. . I don't know. . . but it really does feel like it has an extra 500rpm left in the motor. . . Any ideas???? Possibly a bad sensor or something???? Any help would be great. . .

 

what ecu do u have?

 

i seem to have the same problem bu at 7900. running obd1 p72.

some oem tachs are off but i wouldnt think that much.

 

man mine is off 300rpms. I didnt notice unitl i got a vafc and compared. It could be your tach. good luck

kinda sucks but i only use the tach for launching the car

 

i have the same problem, even though i only have a d16z6, when i hit the rev limiter at 7200, my tach says i am at 7500+
