JDM D15B ON MY OEM RPM GAUGE NOT ACCURATE?!?!?!
HI I HAVE A 1.5 ZC D15B and my redline is same as the D16Z6. However my tach is reading 6600 when I redline. So I swapped out my ecu with my friend's Z6's and same thing happened, leaving me with the belief that my oem tach isnt reading right.
Is there anything I can do to fix this, or will I simply have to get an aftermarket tach?

yeah . . . . the z6 redlines @ 7200 though
and its cutting me @ 6600 according to the tach . . . . so i wonder if theres a way to make the oem tach read more accurately.
Otherwise im going to start pricing an aftermarket one.

my rev limit is at 8500, but my tach goes all the way to 9000 and still doesnt hit the rev limter. my x-over is supposed to be at 5500, but i hear it kick at 6200. my tach also indicates 1200 when im idiling, even tho it idles at 800 (on a digital tach). stock tach

you can pull the needle off very carefully and place it back in a slightly different position to compensate..you have to remember where the needle falls naturally without the stop bit and adjust it relative to that, ie it falls way past the little black thing if you take it off

Yup. my fields reads im at 1100 while the tach says im at 2k sometimes. so i just look at the fields to double check it

the ecu is what determines your redline so wether your tach is reading 6k or 6.6k doesnt really matter. your redline is youre redline. just know where your tach shows you redline at and thats where 6.6k should be. Thats all you need to know. Make a little mark if you want to and just shift a little before that mark.
