Default Engine swap woes

I recently put my b18c1 back into my 94 hatch after the rebuild.

Everything was fine, it started up for turn over, and ran cool. We adjusted the idle, and let it run for a few mins before test driving it.

After all that was done, we test drove it, and it felt perfect, responded well to the gas etc.

After one time of stabbing it, the car died down, it was a calm turn off, it didnt sputter or nothing, the rpm just dropped, and the engine turned off.

Turns out im not getting spark, so i used my BRAND NEW dizzy, got new spark plugs and spark plug wires, but no go!! WTFFFF!!!!

We are speculating it may be the rotor, but i dont know. When i click it over, the fuel pump doesnt sound like its primering, and the spark plugs dont have a gas smell.

But the main thing is IM GETTING NO SPARK, but its turning over beautifully..

Can anyone help me out here? Im so angry.

if your also not getting fuel it could be the main relay. just a thought.

if you aren't getting fuel or that clicking when you start it, your main relay could be bad. Also if your getting no spark but your turning over, i would check the cap and rotor replace them because they are cheap, then if you still aren' tgetting any spark replace the ignitor.

Ya, you CANNOT hear the click or the hiss, when i put it in the second click...Cant smell gas on the plugs.

I replaced the whole dizzy with a BRAND NEW one, got a new cap, and spark plugs+wires.

The only thing i DID NOT replace was the rotor.

and as to the main relay suggestion, what do i check? Fuses?

keep the input comming guys, thanks alot

Like everyone says, Main Relay. Also try taking sand paper to all your grounding spots.

How to Main Relay:

definately will check that out tommorow

I'll try the sanding the ground spots down too.

But what still urks me, is WHY did it run just fine for a while, then die out? What could be wrong with the main relay to cause it to have no spark etc?

UPDATE...I Switched my rotor with a brand new one...

NO ******* SPARK STILL...Im on my last nerve with this motor.

EVERYTHING has been replaced but my main relay..We took it out and ohms tested it, only one side has resistance..But i belive it's sopposed to be like that in the first place.

ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks.

Maybe the ECU took a dump... hopefully not though, virgin P72's aren't as easy to come by as they used to be.

I'm using a spoon chipped p28. We tried my ecu in my friends car, and it started right up, and we tried his KNOWN working p28 in mine, and no go.

Just to throw something out on the table here, I'm going to say try putting the old distributor back on, making sure you have all the wires in the correct locations on the ICM.

Also, make sure you check all your fuses... I forgot to say that before.

Ya i want to try my old dizzy for sure..I check all of the fuses in the passenger side engine bay...They seem fine. The drivers side all is good to go too, any others i can be missing?

I think once i find the problem about my fuel pump not turning on, it'll be the same thing for my ecu, and ignition...But should the main relay have been the problem then? Shitty.

check your grounds then check power to fuel pump. check your coil spec. ignitor spec.

are you sure you don't got spark? exactly how are you checking for spark? change the main relay. if your intermittently getting fuel then its most likely your main relay. the soldered joints on the board evantually go bad causing it to loose contact. you should at least eliminate the fuel problem.
