why would the motor start but not go in gear?

Default why would the motor start but not go in gear?

i bought a hatch the motor starts but wont go in gear to drive... any help?

pressure plate might be collapsed or the clutch is just totally shot

might wanna check and bleed the clutch line to make sure no air is in there, seen that happen b4 too

can you out a clutch on with a alignment tool on a stock d15 tranny or i have a tool for clutchmasters clutch, will that work?

1 question is maybe you can try.
2 question you mean by using the aligment tool came from the cm kit you got? if it fit then yes.

could be a couple things, shift fork inside tranny could be bent. shift linkage could be bent+ what everyone else said.

when you start up the car, and try putting it in first does it feel like the car is going to bog or try to lurch forward? if so, then it's gonna be the clutch itself, if not also check master cyl.
