Default rebuilding a fire damaged car

anyone knows if it's ok to rebuild a car that had an underhood fire for road racing puposes? the hood is bent from the heat but the unybody is fine. Does the metal changes it's structure enough to loose strength?

I can get the shell pretty cheap, so it's very tempting!

if its only the hood that has the damage i dont see why there would be a problem.
im pretty sure there wasnt enough heat to damage the frame.
maybe someone else knows tho. just my .02
