Putting 16's on my 90 Civic Hatch
I found a pretty good deal on some 16's for my car but before I bought them I just wanted to know a few things. Rims are 16x7 w/ 205/45/16 tires (owner didn't know offset but previously had them on a 95 civic)
What I wanted to know was would I have any clearance problems, and would they help eliminate the wheel gap I currently have or just raise the car up higher in the air. (car currently sits on stock suspension parts, and crappy steel 13's)

when upsizing tire/wheel package the over all diameter will stay the same, as the rim size increases (say 15-16) the profile of tire will get smaller say (50-45) these numbers are just examples. im not sure if that pertains to 18 and larger but your not using that size it doesnt really matter. as for ride height or wheel well space that will not change buy putting that rim size on your car. you will need to lower with a shorter spring/lowering kit.
Actually I think that size tire is larger diameter than stock, so yes, you will fill more wheel gap than normal.
For 16's on an EF, 40 series is closest to stock, although you lose just a little diameter overall. 45 series should work just fine with stock suspension though.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Floored »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">would they help eliminate the wheel gap I currently have or just raise the car up higher in the air. Should do a little of both.....raise you up a hair and fill a little wheel gap also
